Description

Need a high-capacity battery pack for your project? This lithium-ion battery pack is made from 3 balanced 3350mAh ICR18650 cells connected in parallel for a total capacity of 10050mAh at 3.7V nominal.

The cells are spot-welded and connected to an integrated protection circuit module (PCM/BMS) that provides over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, and short-circuit protection for improved safety and reliability.

Each cell supports up to 0.5C continuous discharge (approximately 1.67A per cell), allowing the pack to deliver up to 5A continuous discharge current under normal operating conditions. However, because this pack is optimized for high energy density rather than high power output, we recommend keeping continuous current draw below 0.2C (approximately 2A) for maximum cycle life, reduced heat generation, and optimal long-term performance.

The pack includes color-coded power leads and a genuine JST 2-pin connector for convenient charging and connection. Unlike low-quality clone connectors, the genuine JST connector provides smooth insertion and removal without snagging or sticking. Please note that the included JST cable is rated for approximately 2A continuous current, so higher current applications should use appropriately rated wiring and connectors.

The integrated protection circuitry automatically disconnects the battery if the voltage becomes too high during charging or too low during discharge. The protection cutoff voltage is approximately 3.0V to help prevent cell damage caused by over-discharge.

Even with built-in protection, this battery pack must only be charged using a lithium-ion constant-current/constant-voltage (CC/CV) charger designed for 3.7V lithium-ion batteries. For best safety and battery longevity, we recommend a charging current of 0.2C (2A) or lower. The maximum recommended charging current is 0.25C (2.5A).

Like most lithium-ion battery packs, this pack does not include an internal thermistor or temperature monitoring circuit. For this reason, lower charging currents are recommended to minimize heat generation and extend battery lifespan. Charging at lower currents is perfectly acceptable and may further improve long-term cycle performance.

Additional safety notes: 

Do not use a NiMH/NiCad/lead-acid charger! Also, do not abuse these batteries, do not short, bend, crush, or puncture. Never charge or use unattended. Always inspect batteries and surrounding circuitry constantly for any damage, loose wiring, or the possibility of short circuits. Polarity matches all Adafruit LiPoly/LiIon chargers and boards, other brands may have reverse polarity and can destroy your battery. As with all Lithium-ion polymer batteries and with any power source - they should be used by experts who are comfortable working with power supplies.
